York County possesses a reliable infrastructure network that can reach both national and international destinations. Logistics, distribution and manufacturing operations thrive here and represent a growing sector in the local economy.
Given the excellent transportation network, Ross Stores, West Marine, Northern Tool, Stanley Black & Decker, McKesson, U.S. Foods, and Exel, a third-party logistics company, have large distribution centers in the county. Many of the top-ten employers in York County are now financial-related operations, including Wells Fargo, CitiFinancial, and Mergent. The county is also now home to new headquarter operations such as LPL Financial and Lash Group, which recently invested a combined $240 million in a new office development and brought more than 5,000 new jobs to Fort Mill. Other companies such as Shutterfly, Broad River Furniture, and Schaeffler Group have recently relocated or expanded their existing operations in York County.
